To paint a portrait of famous men is both easy and challenging at the same time. Easy because one always has some reference point either in the form of a portrait done by an acclaimed artist or having seen the face way too many times in pictures that one can have a starting point. Challenging because there are hardly any facets or emotions of that famous face that has already not been captured in colors by artists.

And choosing to make an Albert Einstein portrait fits exactly in the above dichotomy. The need to draw an Albert Einstein portrait came about because not only is the artist a great admirer of him but also that there was a specific criteria under which she wanted to paint an Einstein portrait. The criterion was to paint a portrait of the man without having to thrust in, the overwhelming brilliance and achievements of that man. More often than not you will find an Einstein portrait where you can clearly see that the artist has indulged in way too much seriousness or contemplativeness while drawing Einstein’s face. And that is understandable, for such was that man’s brilliance.

If you closely observe this portrait of Einstein’s by the artist, the first thing you will notice is an
almost expressionless face, far removed from having any thoughts. A tired man, far removed from his work and thoughts reluctantly staring into a void, as if for once asking the peering eyes to see him apart from his genius, asking you that for once somebody looks at him as a tired old man on whose face life has written many wrinkles too and not only aura. For once to look at his long white hair not as a fashion statement but to realize that life and work has left him devoid of any colors.  There was an overwhelming artistic desire to introduce a tinge of sadness into the portrait, which was thankfully avoided because the artist wanted the viewer to deduce that sadness in his face themselves if there was any.
